in the leadership and business development of a major blue-chip
Aerospace/Defence group His contribution was a major factor in the growth
of the Operations Division from 50 to 600 employees in less than 10 years,

dominance.
A fundamental part of the strategy was Colin’s conception and creation of,
a new aerospace component repair and overhaul facility. This was initially
intended to provide cost effective support solely for the Company’s fleet
of over 30 aircraft, but due to it’s success Colin adapted the
organisation into an independent business providing these services to
other aircraft operators During this critical phase Colin took the lead

particularly valuable bid and proposal resource. His broad spectrum of
skills resulted in him being involved in various proposals from a simple
cost per flying hour contract, through to a full turnkey
(aircraft/aircrew/engineering/logistics support/training) package.
Colin spent a considerable period of time overseas, responsible for all
aspects of avionics and ground installations for a quasi-military
organisation.. This was a challenging position, which required Colin to
introduce a culture of best civil aviation practice into a civil service
organisation to ensure continuing airworthiness, quality and despatch
reliability.
